Independent Living Specialist

We are hiring for an Independent Living Specialist in our Boise office. We educate, support, and encourage people with disabilities to live the life of their choosing. High school diploma or equivalent

Associates degree in a related field or 2-years of related experience

Familiarity with independent living skills and the independent living philosophy

Experience maintaining confidential records

Extra Credit:

Personal or professional experience with the disability community

Living with a disability


Create an environment that promotes self-direction and encourages individuals to achieve their desired level of independence

Work with individuals to plan and achieve their goals

Advocate with consumers on an individual and systems level as needed

Provide information and referral services to people with disabilities and community partners

Be knowledgeable about federal disability laws and regulations

Maintain relationships with community partners

Be knowledgeable about Centers for Independent Living, our five core services, and other programs and services provided by LINC

Create and maintain efficient and accurate files and contact notes in LINC’s database
