Organizational Overview

Elevations is a local Spokane nonprofit organization whose mission is to fund necessary therapies to elevate children with special needs. The vision for Elevations is to ensure all children, regardless of family resources, receive the therapy and equipment they need to live up to their full potential.

The organization operates with a dedicated and diverse volunteer board of director with a dynamic leadership structure who carry an average tenure of two-five years with the organization. The expansion and growth of Elevations is dependent on a dedicated team of volunteers led by a visionary staff, board of directors and executive team.

Elevations is a 13 year-old nonprofit, and is transitioning from its’ first Executive Director. As such, the organization is poised for significant transition and growth. A recent organizational assessment determined that the nonprofit could easily be a net $1 million organization with the right staff leadership, fund development plan and donor focus. There is a demonstrated community need for the grant services that Elevations provides, and the timing is right to reconsider how business “could” be done.

Position Overview

The Executive Director is the chief staff leader of Elevations. They are primarily responsible for defining, communicating, and executing initiatives that realize the vision and goals presented in the board-approved strategic plan.

The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for leading Elevations fund development initiatives and grant programs as well as the day-to-day administration of all internal, back-office and operational functions. The Executive Director makes staffing decisions and enables staff success. They determine the most effective operational systems needed to accomplish the Elevations goals and objectives.

The Executive Director works closely with and reports to the Board President and is accountable, by extension, to the executive committee, and the board of directors. The Executive Director is the face of Elevations, and is expected to be a presence in the greater Spokane community. They must also effectively consult with the board about the immediate, middle, and long-range trajectory/goals of Elevations needs and the needs of the community it serves.

This role is a fabulous opportunity for a seasoned nonprofit executive with an entrepreneurs spirit. This is truly a “generalist” position; the ideal candidate will have prior demonstrated successes in supporting nonprofit boards, growing nonprofit special events and deepening relationships with funders and coaching.

Salary and Benefits

· The salary range for the Elevations’ Executive Director position is $65,000-$80,000, which is subject to career experience.

· Upon hire, Elevations offers three weeks of annual personal time off (PTO) which can be used for vacation and additional out of office needs.

· Per Washington State law, staff accrue one (1) hour of sick pay for every 40 hours worked.

· Elevations employees receive paid time off for 10 holidays.

· Health insurance is offered by Elevations for each full-time staff member and is paid for by the employer.
