Kitchen Staff/Cook

City of Good is seeking to grow our kitchen team with professionals who are excited to work in a busy and evolving kitchen operation while serving a larger nonprofit mission. We want to hire people who care about local food, want to be part of a team, and can prepare menu items with care and efficiency. The Counter is housed within the Shrine Social Club and is open Su, Tu, We, and Thu 5-11pm and Sa, Sun 6pm-1am.

Compensation

Hourly rate of $20 per hour

3-4 days per week

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items in accordance with City of Good standards and guidelines
• Follow all food health and safety requirements
• Assist with the unloading and proper storage of deliveries
• Interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues with respect and attention to detail
• Follow all opening and closing procedures
• Collaborate with a larger nonprofit team committed to providing equitable access to food for all Boise residents
• Work independently, meeting or exceeding expectations without supervision
• Other kitchen duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in a restaurant preferred
• Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and lift 50+ pounds
• Willingness to work weekends and nights
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Existing knowledge of food safety procedures preferred

• Position regularly interacts with: Duck Club staff, front of house staff, vendors, and executive director
