About Us: Supporting limited-income pregnant parenting women and families through education and incentives to promote healthy pregnancies and babies.


Position Overview: The Director of the BabySteps program at St. Michael's Episcopal Cathedral is tasked with a multifaceted role that encompasses leadership, management, and community engagement. This individual is responsible for overseeing the program's daily operations, which aim to support expecting mothers, infants, and toddlers through various educational and empowerment initiatives. Key responsibilities include grant writing, promoting the program across different media platforms, managing donations, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining the program's online presence. The role is pivotal in fostering a nurturing environment for families in need, ensuring they receive the care and resources necessary for a healthy start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide services to clients in vulnerable populations with sensitivity and compassion
  • Recruit, schedule and manage community partners and educational classes
  • Promote BabySteps Program through various venues including TV, Radio, newspaper, and speaking at related community events
  • Develop and manage a referral program for pregnant or parenting mothers with children under 2 years of age.
  • Manage and promote internal and external donations
  • Manage the BabySteps boutique which includes the oversight, purchasing, cleaning and stocking/displaying gently used items
  • Contribute articles to the monthly church newsletter and weekly email communications as needed

Qualifications: 

  • A degree in non-profit management, or similar program is desirable but not required
  • Experience in similar role
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience including grant writing and cultivating community partnerships
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive back-ground check

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions:

  • Position is 20 hours per week
  • In-Person office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 weeks per month from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Hybrid work options available outside of required in-person office hours
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary is competitive/commensurate with experience.
  • 2 weeks Paid time off annually
