The Idaho Nonprofit Center –established to educate, advocate, and collaborate in support of stronger nonprofits– is looking for an individual to assist with the documentation and coordination of policy and legislative issues impacting the nonprofit sector statewide.
This is a paid, part time, seasonal position that can be utilized as internship credit.
Duties Include:
Track local and national legislative bills that influence nonprofits in Idaho
Research and interpret potential bills to discern impact to nonprofits in Idaho, including collecting feedback on impact of legislation from Idaho Nonprofit Center members
Work closely with the INC’s policy committee to achieve consistent messaging
Write and condense explanations of potential bills for bi-weekly Legislative Watch e-newsletter
Utilize MailChimp and the INC’s blog to share bi-weekly Legislative Watch e-newsletter
Position Success Factors:
Some knowledge of governmental bills and the Idaho state legislature process
Some knowledge of small business and employer policies
Curiosity and interest in the nonprofit sector
Ability to quickly learn and be comfortable with new technology and software
What we are offering:
5–10 hours a week
10–15 weeks starting in December 2024 or January 2025 and ending at the conclusion of the 2025 legislative session in early April
Depending on availability
$18-$20/hour
