The Director of Sponsorships & Partnerships is responsible for developing and implementing sponsorship strategies that align with the organization’s goals and advance the YMCA’s mission. This includes identifying potential sponsors, negotiating sponsorship agreements, and fostering relationships with sponsors. This position must work closely with other departments to ensure that revenue opportunities align with branch programs, events, and initiatives

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow a robust, restricted revenue portfolio in alignment with the association’s overarching philanthropy plan.
  • Lead all sponsorship activities, including sponsor prospecting, proposal customization and presentation, contract revision and servicing, sponsor follow-up and support, and representing the YMCA at industry functions.
  • Partner with branch teams to identify and organize compelling marketing opportunities within their current and future programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Support the planning and implementation of fundraising events that rely on sponsorships.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development.
  • Recruit and manages volunteer as need per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines.
  • Attend offsite meetings. Meet transportation requirements preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in fundraising, sales, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, time management, flexibility, organization, attention to detail, and independent work proficiency.
  • Ability to articulate YMCA priorities and negotiate deliverables, timelines, and contracts.
  • Ability to create and manage a budget.
  • Excellent human relations skills and an ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

 

Schedule:

This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly. The typical schedule will be 8 hours per day Monday - Friday with reasonable flexibility for start/end time each day. Some nights and weekends (not many) based on fundraising events and branch events. This position reports to the Metro office, and we can provide some accommodation for remote work: 30% or less remote.
