Summary: The White Clouds Preserve (WCP) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster stewardship, education and community in Central Idaho. Our vision is that environmental stewardship at White Clouds Preserve will inspire connection and conservation throughout Idaho and the West.
We work to improve the quality of our land, and support our wildlife to conserve natural resources. We are a refuge for overwintering elk, deer and more, as well as cultivating a biodiverse habitat. The 432-acre Preserve celebrates the rugged high-desert beauty and solitude that are the defining characteristics of central Idaho. The Lodge at White Clouds Preserve serves as a venue for community, connection, research, and education with local schools, nonprofits, universities, volunteers, and beyond.
Surrounded by the Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness Areas and Sawtooth National Recreation Area, White Clouds Preserve and the East Fork Salmon watershed offer unique refugia for many imperiled fish and wildlife in the face of climate change. The outstanding ecological and natural values of this landscape present opportunities to stimulate environmental restoration on a watershed scale in partnership with Tribal, federal, and state agencies, leading research institutions, other non-profit organizations, and volunteers.
WCP is currently implementing an AmeriCorps State & National program supporting restoration efforts on the Preserve and locally.
