Fund Development Program Management
- Conceptualizes and designs annual and long-term comprehensive fundraising plans to implement and manage giving activities that ensure adequate funding for designated programs.
- Develops and oversees the methods and implementation of prospect cultivation strategies.
- Develops individually tailored and detailed gift opportunities for potential major donors; prepares written proposals, solicitation appeals, reports and or other specific development materials for use during donor cultivation and solicitation; develops and helps conduct strategic cultivation activities such as field trips, meetings, and special events for donors and prospects.
- Manages donor relations to include database management and recognition programs.
- Oversees the comprehensive grant plan including contract management; maintains a professional relationship with corporations, foundations and individuals that provide support to the Agency.
- Acknowledges, tracks, and responds to gifts received in support of the Agency.
- Develops goals and priorities consistent with Idaho statutes and historical society guidelines.
- Determines financial requirements and prepares budget requests.
- Monitors and authorizes expenditures.
Membership and Volunteer Program Management
- Oversees comprehensive agency membership program, engaging Idahoans to become an integral part of the ISHS family of supporters.
- Oversees annual membership recruitment campaigns and ensure fulfilment of membership benefits.
- Collaborates with agency workgroups to implement membership sales training.
- Facilitates membership program through Foundation for Idaho History.
- Oversees agency volunteer program of 150+ supporters.
- Ensures proper recruitment, training, and communication with statewide supporters.
- Staffs Foundation for Idaho History.
Capital/Project Campaign Program Management
- Establishes campaign committee and coordinates the recruitment of additional volunteer leadership.
- Staffs campaign committee and board including, but not limited to the preparation of agendas, materials, minutes, etc.
- Communicates regularly with campaign leadership, campaign counsel, and other staff members to provide ongoing updates and progress reports.
- Organizes donor cultivation events and other campaign activities.
- Arranges, confirms, and provides advance materials for campaign cultivation and solicitation meetings and presentations.
- Identifies and researches prospective individual, corporate and foundation donors in conjunction with Trustees, Foundation and Executive Director.
- Coordinates design and implementation of campaign-related public relations efforts including speaking engagements, media presentations, updates, newsletters, web postings and mailings.
Supervision
- Plans and directs the work of staff and volunteers.
- Hires, trains, and evaluates staff.
- Resolves personnel problems.
- Develops policies and procedures relating to memberships and volunteers.
Reporting Relationships
The Development and Membership Administrator reports to the Executive Director of the Idaho State Historical Society and supervise employees, volunteers, or interns.
Serves as liaison to the Foundation for Idaho History
Other Functions and Responsibilities
- Serves on the Agency Leadership Team and participates in organizational development, including timely strategic planning, enhancing board and staff development, creating a highly productive and positive work environment, and monitoring agency performance
- Provides strategic direction to the agency through participation on select agency and partner organization committees as appropriate
- Provide support to agency public programs and outreach effort
- Some weekend and/or evening hours may be scheduled
- Performs other duties as assigned.
