Job Overview / Summary:

City of Good is a vibrant and growing nonprofit. The Communications Associate will be responsible for ensuring we not only stay in touch with our donors and volunteers but that we are effectively promoting our mission, programs, and initiatives by executing effective communication and engagement strategies.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Marketing & Communications
    • Maintain all tabling material so that we are always prepared to go
    • Prepare media materials for distribution
    • Ensure that CoG social media platforms are up to date, meet brand standards, and keep our grid cool
    • Maintain and update all photo and brand files in shared drive
    • Prepare and print all outreach and advertising materials including but not limited to flyers, tabling material, hand outs, posters, coupons, menus
    • Create event communications on social media, emails, and invitations
    • Collaborate with other teams to follow and share the public voice of the brand
    • Follow style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other vital departments
    • Share press releases and speeches following organizational news
    • Manage and respond to emails that come in to the [email protected]om account
  • Donor Stewardship
    • Input and maintain correct donor data
    • Collect and process mail at least 2x per week
    • Prepare and send all mailings
    • Ensure board shared drive and binders are up to date with printed material
    • Track event RSVPs and details (ie menu restrictions, and other stuff) 
    • Partner with development manager to execute events

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of social media and marketing strategies
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-directed learner and independent worker with the ability and desire to take initiative
  • Great multitasker, capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Familiarity or experience working with CRM software is an asset
