A Brief Overview
This role contacts and cultivates mid-level donors to help solicit gifts, retain and decrease attrition and help increase the revenue per donor, and accelerate the movement of mid-level donors to major donors so that the mission and ministry of MAF may be supported financially, as an essential part of the work of MAF so that the Gospel is proclaimed and God's Kingdom is extended.

This position requires an active commitment to the mission, values, and doctrinal stance of MAF. In the course of performing job duties, the employee will act in a manner that is Christ-honoring as well as Christ-like, demonstrating a personal Christian faith and witness in all interpersonal interactions.

Essential Duties

  •  75% Fund Development    
    o    Manages a limited portfolio of mid-level donors by implementing a donor introduction communication strategy and tiering potential managed donors based on evaluation criteria. 
    o    Develops relationships to help maintain donor retention, decrease attrition, increase revenue per donor, and move towards major gifts.
    o    Collects personal information and personal interests on what motivates the donor to partner with MAF.
    o    Verifies and corrects information in donor records and provides real-time feedback from donors.
    o    Sets up monthly donor touch points based on communication strategy for calendar year and tracks and follows the annual relationship development process for each donor in portfolio.
    o    Presents planned giving options to donors.
    o    Ensures that donors receive appropriate, consistent recognition and an accounting of the impact that their gift has on needs.
    o    Articulates organizational views on behalf of MAF executive leadership.
    o    Shares clearly articulated ministry opportunities needing gifts, according to funding priorities and projects established by management.
    o    Plans all personal contacts and communications with each prospective donor in the assigned portfolio by reviewing giving history and communication strategy that includes giving potential, special interests, and involvement. After each contact, records notes, and next steps to be taken by the mid-level Donor Relations Director
    o    Evaluates giving potential and determines possible handoff to major gifts portfolio or continue or discontinue cultivation at mid-level.
    o    Sends personalized reports when needed to each donor and according to relationship development program.
    o    Tracks and follows the annual relationship development process for each donor in portfolio.
  • 25% Administration 
    o    Executes all components of relationship development for each donor in portfolio.
    o    Enters notes in donor management software and next steps after each meeting, e-mails, texts, and phone call to donors
    o    Participates in portfolio reviews with the Director of Development Division
    o    May serve on project team or lead with donor events/desserts.
    o    May plan and attend events as it pertains to networking, outreach, board dinners, etc.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.    
•    3 years experience in fundraising, either for ministry support or through ministry partnership
•    2 years nonprofit experience.

Skills
•    Intermediate ability in comfortably relating to high net-worth individuals
•    Intermediate knowledge/understanding of planned giving instruments. 
•    Intermediate knowledge/understanding of Capital Campaigns solicitation.
•    Intermediate skill in Portfolio management and donor cultivation
•    Intermediate ability in enthusiastically presenting the evangelical ministry of MAF.
