About Camp Rainbow Gold

Camp Rainbow Gold is an independent nonprofit dedicated to serving Idaho children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Our programs include five specialized camps, and family events—all provided at no cost. We are powered by a passionate volunteer network and funded through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Position Summary

Fund development is essential to the success and sustainability of Camp Rainbow Gold. The Development Manager is a key member of our fundraising team, responsible for executing strategic fundraising initiatives, cultivating donor relationships, and managing special events. This role requires exceptional organization, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to donor stewardship.

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners through personalized communication, presentations, and in-person visits.
  • Support a comprehensive stewardship program to enhance donor engagement, including tracking cultivation efforts and ensuring timely, meaningful communication.
  • Utilize donor databases and reports in Bloomerang, ensuring accurate tracking of contact information, contributions and interactions.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the annual fundraising strategy, focusing on initiatives in the Treasure Valley and extending into the Magic Valley.

Grant Management

  • Research, draft, and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding for Camp Rainbow Gold programs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with granting organizations and ensure compliance with reporting and progress updates.

Special Event Coordination

  • Coordinate, and execute fundraising events that are hosted by others, ensuring successful donor engagement and event logistics.
  • Lead post-event follow-ups to strengthen donor relationships and ensure continued support.
  • Play an integral role in the Share Your Heart Ball, including securing sponsorships, table sales, managing silent auction, and curating two live auction items. Learning and utilizing Greater Giving software. Availability to be in Sun Valley during event week is required for setup and onsite coordination.

Financial Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to the organization’s annual budget and financial policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all Camp Rainbow Gold fundraising and donor engagement procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing, and event management.
  • Proven success in income development and engaging high-net-worth individuals and corporate sponsors.
  • Strong written communication skills: experience in grant writing preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher); experience with Bloomerang and Greater Giving is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to represent Camp Rainbow Gold’s mission with confidence and enthusiasm.
