About Us:
The Birds of Prey NCA Partnership (BOPP) is a conservation nonprofit dedicated to protecting the natural and cultural resources of the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area (NCA) in Idaho. We work closely with federal agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to support science, stewardship, and education initiatives that sustain the NCA’s remarkable raptor populations and habitats.

The Birds of Prey NCA Partnership recently launched an Outdoor Classroom program with funding from the Foundation for America’s Public Lands. The Outdoor Classroom program is focused on connecting high school and college students with research and conservation projects in the NCA. This position is designed to help make our Outdoor Classroom program self-sustaining, so that it can continue beyond the scope of this grant.

In addition to the Outdoor Classroom program, BOPP hosts an annual raptor-themed festival every June, Snake River Raptor Fest. BOPP is also involved in native plant restoration, raptor research, and a variety of education and outreach programs. Moreover, BOPP produces a podcast/interview series focused on issues relevant to the NCA called Dedication Point.

  • Donor management and stewardship - maintain one-on-one communication with donors and collaborate with the Communication Director on newsletters and appeals.
  • Work with the BOPP board of directors and Executive Director to research grant opportunities, as well as collaborate on submitting grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funders.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and donor prospects.
  • Provide development-related reports and updates to the Board and staff.
  • Develop and maintain a donor database and track relevant donor data

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing.
  • Strong writing, editing, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with donor management.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising best practices and donor stewardship.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of self motivation and collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and database management tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for environmental conservation and public lands.
  • Graphic design, social media, or event planning experience.
  • Familiarity with grant and donor databases.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: $25–$45/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Flexible work schedule; potential for remote work.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful conservation work in a unique and ecologically significant landscape.
  • Mileage and approved expenses reimbursed.
