Ballet Idaho is the Mountain West’s premier professional ballet company, celebrating 53 years of artistic
excellence, community connection, and transformative storytelling through dance. As the region’s only
professional company presenting a mixed repertoire, including beloved story ballets and contemporary
works by acclaimed choreographers such as Cerrudo, Saunders, and Peck, Ballet Idaho plays a vital
role in the cultural life of the Mountain West and continues to expand its artistic presence across the
region.
Through performances, a thriving Academy, and community engagement programs, Ballet Idaho
nurtures emerging artists and expands access to the arts. The organization operates with a projected
$3.8M annual budget supported by ticket sales, tuition, special events, and contributed revenue. The
team includes 20 administrative and production staff and 25 professional dancers, including AGMA-
represented apprentices.

Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) is Ballet Idaho’s chief executive and strategic leader. In partnership with
the Artistic Director and Board of Directors, the ED oversees financial health, operations, organizational
culture, and community presence.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned nonprofit or mission-driven leader with a passion for the arts, strong
financial management skills, clear communication, and a collaborative leadership style suited to guiding
an organization through transition and into its next phase.
