Cathedral of the Rockies, Boise First United Methodist Church, is looking for a relational, selfmotivated and social justice driven individual to direct our Local Missions programs. The
Director of Local Missions’ primary duties are to recruit, schedule and train volunteers for
COTR’s Missions. As such, this position fields questions on our missions from those
interested in serving, as well as those seeking services.

Hours: 25 hours per week - flexible schedule; 4 hours required on Sunday morning & 4 hours on
Tuesday for staff meetings
Pay: $27- $30 per hour; commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:
Manage two large-scale annual projects:
Habitat for Humanity House Framing - Summer
Holiday Food Boxes Distribution - Fall

Manage Volunteer Leads, recruit Volunteers, assess ongoing operation needs of regular
church missions including, but not limited to:
Weekly Downtown Friendship Feast
Downtown Community Garden
Downtown Mirror Image Toiletries Distribution
Amity Campus Food Pantry
Amity Campus Community Garden
Downtown Baby Needs Diaper Distribution
Daily Downtown Lunch Bag Distribution
Downtown Lobby Ministry
Downtown Coffee Bar
Downtown Brave Bags Distribution
Downtown Alternative Christmas Market
Liasion for Safe Families for Children Volunteers
Manage clothing and food donations and ensure they are directed to the correct location

Desired Requirements:
Committed to building disciples of Jesus Christ
Experience working with Microsoft Office software
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of church hospitality, intentional conversations, and the value of
connecting the church family
Attention to detail and follow-through
Experience with grant writing, knowledge of grant opportunities for our various missions
Other organizational duties:
Look for ways to expand COTR’s involvement with affordable housing builds, engaging
more churches, organizations, and businesses in HFH framing builds
Officially represent COTR in Boise Faith Groups
Represent COTR supporting and communicating the Homeless Coalition Initiatives
Attend and participate in staff meetings
Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator and Communications Team to increase volunteer
and missions engagement
