 Job Summary:

Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity (TVHfH) is seeking a Development Manager to help us in our mission to build safe, decent, affordable housing. The Development Manager will plan and implement a development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization. 

 

Compensation:

Full Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000/ year DOE

Hours: We value flexibility and work-life balance and operate on a four-day work week. The office is closed on Mondays, and employees may select their four working days. This role includes occasional evening and weekend commitments tied to events and community engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support and advance TVHfH’s mission, values, and strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including one-year, five-year, and long-term development goals.
  • In collaboration with the CEO, cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, government partners, businesses, and community stakeholders.
  • Engage prospective donors and supporters on an ongoing basis through meetings, communications, and relationship-building efforts.
  • Grow and manage a major gifts program, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Lead the annual fund program, including direct mail and annual fundraising campaigns.
  • Plan and oversee major fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  • Build and strengthen the planned giving program, with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequests.
  • Partner with the Development & Communications Coordinator to develop and implement donor communications that demonstrate impact and outcomes.
  • Oversee prospect research and donor tracking systems, including fundraising databases.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for TVHfH within the community, strengthening the organization’s profile among business, civic, and nonprofit partners.
  • Oversee event planning and execution, including:
    • Leading sponsorship development, donation acquisition, vendor coordination, ticket and table sales, and logistics for the annual Evening in the Garden gala.
    • Collaborating with the gala committee and Board of Directors on event planning and execution.
    • Supporting additional events such as home dedications, groundbreakings, and community gatherings.
  • Continue to strengthen and grow emerging programs, including Women’s Build and Habitat Youth & Kids initiatives.

Supervisory Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Development team members, including the Development & Communications Coordinator, Community Outreach Coordinator, and contract grant writer.
  • Cultivates and manages internship programs and national service roles, including partnerships with local schools, AmeriCorps, and VISTA.
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO to conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.

Desired Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with donor solicitation and delivering persuasive presentations.
  • Strong relationship management skills; familiarity with the Treasure Valley preferred.
  • Experience with donor databases and grant or fundraising management systems.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with community engagement, event planning, and/or community organizing.
  • Experience with grant management and fundraising.

 Start Date: Preferred start date is March 3 to allow for onboarding alongside the current Development Manager during a planned transition. We are flexible for the right candidate.
