Position Title: Community Schools Impact Analyst

Reports To: Senior Manager of Community Schools

Our key initiatives include (a) facilitating the Idaho Coalition for Community Schools, leading the growth and development of the Community School Strategy throughout the state, (b) leading findhelpidaho.org, which links individuals with free or low-cost programs in Idaho, and (c) making annual grant investments to an average of 30 area nonprofits working in alignment with United Way goals and strategies.

This position is funded through a Full-Service Community School grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Continued employment is contingent upon annual federal appropriations and ongoing availability of grant funding.

Role Summary: 

The Community Schools Impact Analyst advances the effectiveness and sustainability of the Community School strategy by translating information into insight, learning, and action. Working at the intersection of strategy, partnership, and continuous improvement, this role collaborates with United Way staff, school districts, community partners, and an external evaluator to develop meaningful measures that support growth statewide.  The Impact Analyst uses shared learning and reporting to strengthen partnerships, deepen schools’ understanding of continuous improvement, and demonstrate collective impact that improves outcomes for Idaho kids and families.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Analyze community and statewide data to highlight progress, identify gaps, and inform growth and scaling of the Community School strategy.
  • Review and refine action plans to help Community School partners identify, align, and measure strategic priorities effectively.
  • Facilitate alignment of community school action plans with grant implementation expectations, in collaboration with an external advisory firm.
  • Work with external contractors to establish and monitor key performance indicators aligned with broader Community School goals.
  • Collaborate with a third-party evaluator to support both implementation and outcome evaluation efforts.

 

Technical Assistance:

  • Design resources and professional learning opportunities to build the capacity of community school teams and partners to collect and interpret information in ways that support reflection, learning, and shared understanding of progress.
  • Support and provide technical assistance for using data for continuous improvement among Community School and agency partners.
  • Support schools and local stakeholder councils in designing and carrying out annual assets and needs assessments that meaningfully guide planning and decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Assist in advancement of Community School Strategy statewide by aiding the Coalition in using data to articulate need and impact.
  • Prepare visualizations, reports, and presentations to report data and evaluation findings to stakeholders.

 

 

 

Coordination and Reporting:

  • Coordinate the collection and organization of information from schools and partners, ensuring it is accessible, accurate, and useful for learning and decision-making.
  • Track project and community-level indicators to support shared accountability, continuous improvement, and reporting.
  • Support the preparation and submission of required grant reports in alignment with project timelines and funder expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an active member of the Community Impact department and provide support to other departments and core functions of UWTV, including operations, marketing, and resource development, to advance organizational mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, social sciences, data analytics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in policy implementation and evaluation.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in data collection and analysis used to plan, monitor, and adjust programs and processes. 
  • Use of data-driven decision making in systems-level practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with grant outcome monitoring and reporting.  
  • Experience in complex and collaborative environments among schools and community organizations.  

Physical Requirements and Travel: Standard office environment demands, including prolonged computer use. Some in-state travel and limited out-of-state conferences annually. 

 Location: Boise, Idaho, with some remote work flexibility. 

Competitive Package: This is a full-time, exempt level position with a competitive annual salary range starting at $53,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance, and a retirement match.
