Position Title: Community Schools Learning and Collaboration Manager

Reports To: Senior Manager of Community Schools

Our key initiatives include (a) facilitating the Idaho Coalition for Community Schools, leading the growth and development of the Community School Strategy throughout the state, (b) leading findhelpidaho.org, which links individuals with free or low-cost programs in Idaho, and (c) making annual grant investments to an average of 30 area nonprofits working in alignment with United Way goals and strategies.

This position is funded through a Full-Service Community School grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Continued employment is contingent upon annual federal appropriations and ongoing availability of grant funding.

 

Role Summary: Community Schools Learning and Collaboration Manager strengthens the effectiveness and sustainability of the Community School strategy by building strong partnerships and delivering high-quality professional learning opportunities across Idaho. This role leads the coordination of technical assistance, peer learning, and statewide professional development efforts that support implementation, shared learning, and continuous improvement. Working closely with schools, community partners, contractors, and United Way staff, the Learning and Collaboration Manager ensures professional development offerings are responsive, aligned, and designed to support long-term success of Community Schools statewide.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Professional Development and Technical Assistance

• Coordinate comprehensive and robust technical assistance to support expansion and implementation of Community School strategy among schools and partners.
• Facilitate Peer Learning Networks for community school practitioners, school administrators, and partners.
• Develop and maintain guidance resources that support effective strategy implementation and shared understanding of best practices.
• Evaluate professional development and technical assistance offerings to inform continuous improvement and ensure relevance and impact.

 

Training and Events:

• Support the planning and alignment of statewide Community School professional development events, including recurring virtual peer learning networks and annual in-person conferences and trainings.
• Coordinate training and event logistics, including budgeting, communications, presentation materials, travel, participant tracking, and on-site support, in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Ensure training and event content is high-quality, well-coordinated, and aligned with statewide strategy and priorities.
• Partner closely with Community Schools Coaches to surface field-based learning needs and align professional learning offerings with coaching insights.

 

Contract Management:

• Manage contracts with technical assistance providers to assist in the provision of high-quality professional development across Idaho Coalition for Community Schools.
• Work with contractors to define shared performance expectations and timelines, and track progress toward deliverables.
• Manage the annual renewal of contracts, including budget development and alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration to support accurate tracking and reporting of contract expenses.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Serve as an active member of the Community Impact department and provide support to other departments and core functions of UWTV, including operations, marketing, and resource development, to advance organizational mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public administration, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.

• Minimum three (3) years' experience supporting professional development, technical assistance, or program implementation in an education or community-based setting.  

• Experience coordinating or facilitating trainings, peer learning opportunities, or convenings for diverse stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple partners, contractors, and timelines.
• Experience in complex and collaborative environments among schools and community organizations.  

Physical Requirements and Travel: Standard office environment demands, including prolonged computer use. Some in-state travel and limited out-of-state conferences annually. 

 Location: Boise, Idaho, with some remote work flexibility. 

Competitive Package: This is a full-time, exempt level position with a competitive annual salary range starting at $60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance, and a retirement match.
