Organization Summary
Girls on the Run Treasure Valley is a local nonprofit organization that operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International and is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our program currently serves six counties in southwest Idaho. Founded in 2001, Girls on the Run Treasure Valley has served over 15,000 girls in our community, and almost 800 girls participate in our life-changing program each year. Girls on the Run Treasure Valley hosts programs both in the Spring and Fall seasons.

Position Profile
The Girls on the Run® Program Manager is passionate about and committed to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. Reporting to the Girls on the Run Executive Director, this position is responsible for managing all Girls on the Run programs and acts as a collaborative team player with all GOTRTV staff. The Program Manager serves as a supportive and empowering manager to the Program Coordinators, offering guidance and opportunities for growth. Some of the key responsibilities include:
PROGRAM OUTREACH AND MANAGEMENT
- Implement the Girls on the Run strategic program plan and achieve program goals with respect to the number of girls served, the number of site locations, and demographic requirements.
- Manage the recruitment of sites and support the needs of new and existing sites with assistance from the Program Coordinator.
- Manage creation and updates of Pinwheel applications, such as participant registration forms, coach, and site applications.
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators to develop and implement effective marketing and girl recruitment strategies that increase the number of new sites and participants each season.
- Develop a site visit and a site evaluation plan.
- Team up with Executive Director to develop the program budget.
- Manage program budget to ensure program stability and growth, and track and approve program expenses.
- Work in tandem with staff to best serve participants in the Treasure Valley region.
- Participate in strategic planning for all aspects of program development, including season preparation, long-term sustainability planning, staff growth needs, and more.
- Lead Unstoppable Us Girl-led fundraising program, including updating collateral, prize selections, donation tracking, and prize fulfillment – work with Program Coordinator to execute the fundraising.
- On-call coach support during program season – with support from Program Coordinator and Executive Director in monitoring the coach support calls until all after-school Girls on the Run practices have concluded (approximately 6pm) during our 8-week fall program season and 8-week spring program season.
Coach Management and Training
- Ensure all program sites are staffed with trained and qualified volunteer coaches
- Manage all aspects, including coach onboarding, coach training, including GOTR New Coach Training, Returning Coach Kick Off and Coach Appreciation
- Track the Background Check and CPR Certification requirements for volunteers
- Work with Program Coordinator to develop and manage effective coach recruitment and retention strategies
- Oversee and support the needs of all volunteers
5K Celebrations
- Recruit, train, and oversee a fully staffed and operational committee each 5K.
- Manage GOTRTV relationship with Race Director and the Racing Company.
- Work with Race Director to develop a volunteer needs plan.
- Coordinate and lead regular meetings leading up to 5k, ensuring excellent communication.
- Help to create planning timelines and ensure committees stay on schedule.
- Support and ensure effective 5K-related communication occurs with Girls on the Run coaches, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Provide leadership on the celebratory 5K, ensuring a positive experience for volunteers, participants, and vendors.
- Serve as one of the primary contacts for vendors and partners.
- Manage tracking of event statistics and evaluation (ex: number of participants, medals, shirts, bibs).
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
- Assist with Race Partnerships and contribute to GOTRTV event needs (includes tabling, booths, volunteers, etc.)
- Manage and develop community partnerships to create diverse opportunities for engagement, outreach, and fundraising.
- Manage community events (expos, community partnerships, fitness classes, Lunch and Learn, etc.)
- Attend and assist with annual fundraising events such as the GOTR Mile, Idaho Gives, etc.
GENERAL TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in strategic planning concerning program success and growth
- Actively participate in weekly staff meeting, coming prepared and engaging in collective problem-solving.
- Attend Girls on the Run International trainings.
- Participate in and support GOTRI initiatives and task forces as requested
- Demonstrate a commitment to using the opportunities of this position to make Girls on the Run Treasure Valley a more Inclusive, Diverse, Equitable and Accessible organization.

- Some weekends and evenings are required. Coach Training and seasonal 5K must be attended.

Because this position regularly travels for site visits, consistent access to reliable transportation, sometimes on very short notice, is required for this position.
